‎Supporters Urge Hon. Murbuge to Contest Guyuk Constituency Seat Under APC in Adamawa Assembly Race

‎In a grassroots push amid shifting political alliances in Adamawa State, supporters of Hon. Murbuge Abraham are actively campaigning for him to run as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Member representing Guyuk Constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly.

‎While the APC has not officially unveiled him as its flagbearer, his backers are urging him to step forward, citing his experience and local ties as key to strengthening the party’s hold in the area.

‎Hon. Murbuge Abraham, a respected figure in Adamawa, is a mathematician by training and a former university lecturer. He has since built a diverse career as a farmer, trader, businessman, philanthropist, and public servant.

‎Previously aligned with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he served as a coordinator for Atiku Abubakar’s presidential campaign in Adamawa in 2022 and has held roles in the state government, including as Special Adviser on Planning and Statistics under Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

‎In this capacity, he contributed to monitoring and evaluation efforts, emphasizing inclusive governance and project oversight in local government areas.

‎The push for Hon. Abraham comes against the backdrop of major political realignments in Adamawa, including Governor Fintiri’s recent defection from the PDP to the APC, which has spurred mobilization drives across constituencies like Guyuk-Shelleng.

‎Supporters highlight Abraham’s grassroots connections in Guyuk Local Government Area, his reputation for community engagement, and his track record in public service as reasons he should contest.

‎They portray him as a candidate poised to address pressing issues such as infrastructure, education, agriculture, and youth empowerment.

‎While the current representative for Guyuk Constituency is Hon. Sunday Peter, political observers note that the seat has been competitive historically, with shifts between major parties.

‎With the next assembly elections slated for 2027, Abraham’s potential candidacy under the APC banner could energize defectors and loyalists alike, especially as the party ramps up membership registration and outreach in the region.
