The Supreme Court has, on Tuesday, sacked Abdulra’uf Abdulkadir Modibo an All Progressives Congress (APC) member of the House of Representatives, representing Yola South/Yola North/Girei Federal Constituency of Adamawa State.
The five-man panel of the court, led by Justice John Okoro, in a unanimous judgment, upheld an appeal by Mustapha Usman.
The apex court found that Modibbo forged his credentials.
It also affirmed that he did not participate in the mandatory National Youth Service Corps ((NYSC) scheme.
Justice Okoro, reading the judgement, held that Modibo, who came second the APC primary, did not participate in all the stages of the election.
He, therefore, ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue certificate of return to the person who came second in the election and met the constitutional requirements.
