Suspected herdsmen attacked Bare village in Numan local government of Adamawa killing two people leaving 29 with various degrees of injuries.
Our Correspondent who visited the flashpoint reports on Tuesday that those killed were attacked on the farm.
He reports that the village was not burnt down by the bandits as security personnel were on ground to forestall normalcy.
The corpses of victims were deposited at the morgue of the General Hospital Numan as the injured were also receiving treatment at the same hospital.
Rev. Arnold Ijibla, Chairman of the Council said the he had being in constant touch with all the security agencies in the area.
Ijibila said he had released funds for fueling of vehicles for patrol and possible quick response to forestall further attacks.
He also said he had provided some funds for emergency medical attention to the victims to the General Hospital Numan.
He called on the people not to take laws in their hands as the security agencies were on top of the situation.
While recounting its ordeals, Simeon Mailaimu, Councilor Representing Bare Council Ward in the local government said that the attack was unprovoked.
Mailaimu, who is the Leader of the Numan Legislative Council, told our reporter in the Bare village that cows invaded a rice farm belonging to a member of the Bare village.
He said that in the efforts to chase the cows away that the marauders came out from nearby bush to attack the community.
He, however, said the presence of the security in the area would forestall a further escalation of the crisis, adding that the Federal Government must rise up to stem these attacks on innocent citizens.
Alhaji Bala Uba, Chairman of the Hunters Association, Nasarawa Demsa and Numan Branch called on the state government to provide vehicles for their quick response to ward-off killers invasion of the village.
Uba said their big challenge had remained lack of logistics, adding that the association had its intelligence sharing network to alert the people of planned attacks on the village.
He however, commended the council chairman for the mobilisation of all security outfits to maintain law and order in the area.
You would recall that several villages within Numan have come under several attacks in recent times leading to destruction of lives and property.
