…SWC denies suspending him
An All Progressives Congress (APC) Party Chieftain, Haruna Abdulmuni who is the Danmalikin Shelleng has denied that the campaign director General of Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani has engaged in any anti-party activities.
Haruna described the purported suspension of Senator Ahmed Barata as a pure work of bad elements in the All Progressives Congress (APC) that hired agents to bastardize the party.
Haruna responded to the suspension a few hours ago to our Yola correspondent and explained that the ward officials are dancing to the tune of their taskmasters.
He said they are the best description of what is called anti-party agents, violating the APC party guidelines.
According to him as a campaign Director of the party’s governorship candidate whose mission is to win the election to stop low into anti-party activities.
He said for them to venture into the senseless exercise they are the real anti-party agents.
He worried that if at the point a rerun election is around the corner and they are been used to suspend the campaign director they are the worst enemies of APC.
“It is an exercise in futility they have all embark on, it can never see the light of the day,” Haruna said
Haruna has also vouched for Barata that he was never a coordinator of distributing campaign logistics of the area and doesn’t have a common knowledge of what transpired.
He testified that the allegations that Senator Barata appointed his new agents who worked in sharp disagreement with the APC’s agents during the governorship election was a concocted story to smear his political good reputation.
Refuting the suspension also, the Adamawa state working community of the party under the leadership of Elder Tadawus Samaila distanced themselves from the suspension.
The party secretary in a statement he signed, Dr Raymond Chidama said the party will not condone illicit suspension and it is null and void
“The attention of the SWC under the leadership of Hon. Samiala Tadawus was drawn to yet another blatant disregard to the party constitution and guidelines by exco of ketembere ward, Shelleng LGA purportedly suspending Sen. Ahmed Barata for wrong doing.
“In as much as the party does not condone any illicit conduct by party members or officers there is a clear guideline for taking such steps the Ward Executive Committee and not the Ward excos is the only party organ at the ward level that has the power to sit an initiate any disciplinary proceeding.
“The said suspension is therefore unconstitutional, an exercise in futility, null and void and is of no effect.
“In same manner, the LGA Executive Committee is hereby directed to investigate and take appropriate action in line with constitutional provisions.”
