The Borno state Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum has appealed to the people of Jakana and the Borno state in general to talk to their Boko Haram sons snd daughers iand their collaborators to desist and use the widow ptovidef by the Federal Government ” Operation Safe Corridor to surender, as they apple opportunities over there
Governor Babagana Umara made the appeal in Jakana on Thursday when he visited the village to sympathize with the residents over the Tuesday’s Boko Haram attack on the town
” the Boko Haram and their collaboratos are your sons and daughters
You should please talk to them to desist and take the advantage of the widow provide by the Federal Government Operation Safe Corridor and surrender for peace to return back to our communities,, as apple opportunities are there waiting for them.” the governor said.
He said ” you should not run away, Jakana is your village, you have no other place. I have talked to the military, they are coming back. We are going provide you with our hot lines. You should always call and give necessary information so that we will together end insurgency “.
He commanded the Federal government and the military fo rmaintaing peace and order, adding that the situation is now better than 2015.and appealed to the Federal government to deploy more troops to Jakana and the other parts of the state to safeguard them.
He also assured the people that the state government will address water problems and other challenges.
The governor also promised to provide the members if the Civilian Joint Task Force and vigilantes with patrol vehicles and monthly allawanced to enhance their operations
