Taraba 2023: SDP Guber, Baido picks Ahmad Datijo as Running Mate.

The Gubernatorial Candidate of the Taraba State Chapter of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for 2023 election in Taraba State, Hon. Danladi Baido Tijo has introduced and presented Alh. Ahmad Datijo as his Running Mate.

Baido, who described Datijo as a grassroot Politician said SDP took its time to search for a competent person, somebody who is agile and above all, a person who has the fear of God in him.

He presented Datijo before thousands of SDP supporters during an official unveiling of the Party’s Governorship Running Mate in Jalingo, the State capital.

The Gubernatorial Candidate opined that with Datijo, who hails from the Central Senatorial District, Mayo Ndaga Community of Sardauna Local Government Area, SDP is going to win the governorship election come 2023.

He mentioned three pathetic issues of Religious politics, Tribal politics and Insecurity as hampering the peace and development of the State, saying such will be addressed by his administration if given the mandate.

In an interview with Journalists shortly, Baido who doubles as the member representing Ardo-Kola, Lau and Karim Lamido Federal Constituecy at the National Assembly refuted claims that SDP in Taraba has concluded plans to liaise with the All Progressives Congress (APC) to wrestle power out of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the State.

While expressing confidence that SDP will win the 2023 governorship election in the State, the Lawmaker added that the claim was a cheap blackmail and urged his supporters not to be distracted.

“I am a politician of repute, I will not sell my mandate to anybody, SDP has no plans to liaise with APC for the 2023 election”,

“The speculation is just a cheap blackmail to discourage our supporters, we are aware that both the APC and PDP are afraid of us and that is why they picked their Running Mates from the Northern Zone where I come from”,

“Their choices of Running Mate from my zone and the cheap speculations can not distract us”,

“I hereby call on all our Supporters to remain calm and disregard all their claims that SDP has plans to work with APC to remove PDP from office”, he added.

Speaking in an interview also, the Party’s Governorship Candidate, Alh. Ahmad Datijo expressed satisfaction over his choice by SDP and pledged justifying the confidence reposed on him.

Datijo said he will work hand in hand with his Principal, Baido to actualize his mandate of winning the 2023 governorship polls for the betterment of Taraba State.
