Senator Representing Taraba Central at the National Assembly Sen. Yusuf Abubakar Yusuf has warned the youths in the to desist from using illicit drugs and be good ambassadors of their varius communities as well as Taraba state at large.
He gave the warding in Jalingo while addressing his teaming supporters who accompanied him from Balli local government area where he was declared as winner of the last Saturday’s election.
Senator Yusuf expressed gratitude to the Almighty God for granting him victory, while he also appreciated thousands of electorates who found him worthy to continue representing and protecting their interest at the National Assembly where he promised to improve on youths empowerment.
According to the him, the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari is a success to democracy and a subject of democracy they are trying to plant in Taraba state.
Senator Yusuf Abubakar Yusuf however explained that this is the first time that President Buhari had upto fourty per cent in Taraba state which he described as a great development.
The incumbent Senator returned to his seat after scoring ninety eight thousand eight hundred and sixty votes to defeated his closet rival Senator Dahiru Bako Gassol of PDP who polled ninety five thousand and seventy four votes.
However, Alhaji Abdulmumini Vaki of the United Democratic Party UDP who was also on the race scored seven thousand six hundred and fifty three votes, while Abdul’aziz Ibrahim of Social Democratic Party SDP got four thousand five hundred and sixty four votes respectively.
