He recalled how a former Governor procured armored personnel carriers to ensure the security of lives and property in Taraba State. At that time, the level of insecurity was very low yet there was a well-organized and properly funded form of joint security patrol to curb security threats.

According to him this present government is failing in this regard, not living up to expectations to secure the state.

He further said that the government under Ishaku Darius is unable to maintain the security Vehicles purchased, a few of them have been carelessly used in the Governor’s convoy and destroyed.

“Since this administration came on board these vehicles have never been deployed to secure the common man in crisis areas but only as escorts for the Governor.

“The robust patrols we used to see in past regimes have disappeared. The government is unable to even provide patrol vehicles for security agencies not to talk of providing allowances for personnel.

“Morale of security is very low. Meanwhile, this same person blames the federal government for security challenges in his state and has not offered any homegrown solution or taken his security responsibilities seriously.

“This is despite drawing a monthly security vote of 250 million naira.” Kuffi said

He continued to say that the rate of killings of innocent people, kidnapping and banditry is getting out of hand in Taraba and the government is playing a lip service to the whole issue.

“The killings are too much, the government is doing the worst by not taking serious action.” He said

Kuffi called on well-spirited persons and individuals to join in calling the attention of Governor Darius to be up and doing in safeguarding the state.

He wondered how the government that is not serious in the issues of insecurity be able to have a state-own police.

“How can such a person fund the state police he frequently canvasses if maintaining a simple traditional security apparatus is a failure? Wake up Governor Ishaku”. He said

Another concerned indigene, Aminu Jika from the Muri Kingdom said Governor Darius is drastically failing in all aspects of governance.

He narrated how underdevelopment has taken a downward turn, in some areas is a total absence of government policies implementation.

Aminu said there has not been good news of projects commissioning in the state, according to him Taraba state has always being in the news for bad reasons. “This is not what we have bargain.” He said

George Jacob from Donga in his view condemned the PDP government to have brought in Darius to take the lead of state affairs without ex raying his capabilities wether he can or he cannot

Describing him as a total failure in all aspects of government.

He cried over the lack of salaries payment of both state and local governments’ civil servants as at when due, he blamed the PDP for being mute to have allowed the Governor destroying the party in the state for lack of people-oriented and implementable policies.

” PDP under Darius is the worst party in the history of Taraba, unlike the previous PDP we know in the state. Why his leadership under this party is failing? I think Darius is having a leadership problem, the party should do something fast about it.” George said

The view of Alkasim Aliyu who is a resident of Jalingo lambasted the All Progressives Congress (APC) for not giving the needed opposition views of the government.

According to them, Governor Darius has bought them over and they remain mute and dead silent in giving constructive criticism for the government that is failing.
