Taraba Govt. Earmark N15O Million For Anti-Grazing Marshals Training

Taraba state Government has since earmarked N150 million for training of over 1000 ‘Special Anti-open Grazing Marshal Corps, investigations have revealed.

An impeccable source said that , ‘’after the usual state Excutive council meeting, Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku approved the sum of N150 million for training and take-off grant for the Special State Livestock Control and Administration Marshals Corps.

‘’ The corps now being grilled and trains at the NYSC camp were recruited to ensure implementation of the Anti-Open Grazing law in all nooks and crannies of the state,’’ said the source.

While commenting, the state governor Darius Dickson Ishaku though kept mute on the money approved said that , “The implementation of the law will be carried out gradually, beginning with provision of infrastructure, establishment of pilot ranches, provision of clinics, training of personnel and cattle control mechanisms.

“The Taraba State Livestock and Ranch Administration and Control will be inaugurated. Special State Livestock Control and Administration Marshals Corps will also be put in place,’’ he said.

Darius who spoke through his media aide, Emmanuel Bello has affirmed that the implementation of the will be in phases and would boost economic activities in the state as well as bring about peace and security, saying that, ‘’ the law would be of benefit to both farmers and herders.

‘’ Machinery is put in place for the smooth implementation of the law.”

Despite protests, the state government had gone ahead to recruit some youths who will enforce the anti-grazing law in all the local governments areas of the state.
