As Muslims across the world prepare to celebrate their 2022 Sallah celebration, the Taraba State Police Command had deployed about Three Thousand, Five Hundred (3500) Officers from the Command with a view to ensuring a peaceful exercise.
The State Commissioner of Police CP Abimbola Sokoya stated this Wednesday in Jalingo while briefing newsmen shortly after a Security Meeting held at the instance of the celebration.
The CP said the men and officers of his Command have been deployed to all the Sixteen Local Government Areas of the State to avert crime before, during and after the Exercise.
“We have just concluded the Taraba State Security Meeting and the main issue discussed is on how we can have a very peaceful Sallah Celebration”, he said.
On the persistent security threats across the Nation and Taraba State, the CP disclosed that men and Officers of his command, in collaboration with other Sister Agencies are on top of the situation.
While recalling some achievements recorded by the Command in recent time, the Commissioner opined that his men are working very hard towards making sure that crime is drastically reduced to the barest minimum across the State.
We are using this opportunity to assure Tarabans that the Exercise will be a peaceful one.
On the recent uproar at Karim Lamido Local Government Area of the State where according to him, some Cattle were rustled, Sokoya revealed that there is relative calm at the moment. He pointed out that investigations are still being conducted.
Our Correspondent gathered that the State Security Meeting which he stated comprised all Heads of Security Agencies in the State, was held at the Deputy Governor’s office and presided over by the Deputy Governor himself, Engr. Haruna Manu
