Taraba: Public schs. continues to excel in WAEC exams under Gov Darius-Commissioner

The Taraba state ministry of Basic and Secondary Education says public schools have continued to excel in WAEC exams under Governor Darius Ishaku led administration.

State Commissioner of the ministry, Johannes Jigem disclosed this while briefing journalists in Jalingo on the performance of public schools in external WAEC in the state.

He said the commitment of the Governor towards education have added value to the educational sector in the state.

According to him, the outstanding performance of the public schools showed that the governor is actually working and making life better for the people of the state.

He said, Ishaku understood the significance of education to national development, adding that his administration has also placed the state at a high pedestral of performance academically.

Jigem noted that the public schools under the Governor are forced to reckoned with, pointed out that in the previous years the state performance was nothing to write home about but the Darius led administration has changed the narrative.

He however commended the governor for the construction of WAEC office in the state capital, which he said was a boost to the education sector.

Johannes Jigem further explained that the Governor had settled the fees of all exchange students, as well as the registration of those in the special education school in the state.

The commissioner therefore, described the recruitment of three thousand rescue teachers who are providing quality education for the students by the Ishaku’s administration as a huge development to the education sector in the state .
