The incessants communal crisi between the Tivs and Jukuns of Taraba and Benue states is attracting both national and international attention with a call for the warring parties to sheath their swords and embrace Peace.
Rt Hon Abel Peter Diah, one of the stakeholder from Taraba state during the last Wednesday’s Benue and Taraba States stakeholders’ said the meeting aimed at addressing the lingering Tiv/Jukun crisis.
Peter after the meeting held at the Shehu Musa Yar’adua Centre, Abuja, as a stakeholder told Tgnews that Peace and harmonious corporate existing is the center called of the meeting.
He gave critical contributions and proffered that the two tribes must embrace the way of peaceful co-existence for the States to thrive in the paths of unity of purpose for its citizens to enjoy dividends of democracy.
He worried that the two tribes are seen to be brother having so many similarities that binds them together than what divides them,urging the people of two States to understand that they shares many things in common and are brothers.
You could recall that a meeting of stakeholders organized by the Presidency where the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation,Barr Boss Mustapha being the SGF was one of the critical mediator and a guarantor.
The meeting between the representatives of the two states has been called to resolve the unabated Tiv/Jukun crisis, which of recent, has claimed the lives of innocent persons and property.
