The Taraba State 9th Assembly is accused of relegating itself to a mere rubber stamp to the executive Governor of the state,Arch Ishaku Darius who returned after spending over eighty days outside the state for medical reasons.
His returned Thursday evening in a glamour of celebration was followed up with the approval of twelve billion Naira loan by the State legislative Friday Morning.
The approval has since began to generate commends by many critics of the government,frowned that the government is known for unnecessary loans procurement to enslaved the state with nothing on ground to show for it.
The party scribe of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state,Mr Bilana Godwin Williams said the House has displayed high sense blatant loyalty to Darius whose Government is entire anti masses,anti development and anti progress.
He questioned that the Assembly whose normal days of sittings are Mondays to Wednesday and for the House to reconvene for an urgent sitting that’s not an emergency for the general public interest shows that the Governor has pocketed them,and by implications nothing good Shall come out of this present Assembly.
Hon Joseph Albasu Kunini who presided the Friday plenary and through a voice vox had earlier approved the additional loan of 10 billion for the executive aim to construct and equips renovated hospitals
The house had also Granted an approval for the Governor to get another loan of 2.3 billion from Fidelity for building of water canals for dry season farming in Karim and other LGs and the establishment of 3 model cattle ranches in the state.
A Public Commentator in the state, Barr Titus Irmiya the loans are excessive and is capable of enslaving the state for a long period of time.
He said the sixty billion Naira loan approved is enough to do whatever it’s meant to achieve in the state and the extra 12 billion was approved as a personal disbursement to themselves.
He called that all Tarabans and well meaning Nigerians should stand up against the loan that’s not in the interest of Taraba State people.
He maintained that the sixty Billion loan initially collected is enough to build a world class standard hospital,but the loan it not replicating a quarter of the money borrowed in terms of physical infrastructures it has intended for.
“The Governor has come back to enslave us the more through the instrumentally of the state Assembly who suppose to be the voice of the masses and a check mater of the Executive excesses.
“It’s a slap in the entire leadership of the house for renegading itself to a mere rubber stamp of the Governor who are no longer interested in the issues of creating laws for the benefit of the state but only good in approving loans for their selfish interest to enrich themselves.” Titus said
