Prof. Vincent Tenebe, Vice Chancellor, Taraba State University, Jalingo, on Thursday said 29 out of the 5,900 graduates of the institution bagged first class degrees between 2013 and 2017 academic sessions.
Tenebe disclosed this at a press conference in Jalingo, as part of activities marking the March 24 convocation of five sets of graduates of the institution.
According to him, the maiden convocation is for graduates with masters degrees, degrees, post graduate diploma and diploma.
He said 1,006 graduated with second class upper divisions, 2083 graduated with second class lower division, 673 with third class while 32 graduated with pass.
The VC noted that about 32 candidates had acquired post graduate diploma while 18 had masters degree.
Tenebe said the university, established in 2008, had a students population of 15,000 in eight faculties.
He said the convocation lecture slated for Friday would be delivered by the Chairman, UBA, Dr Tony Elumelu, on job seekers and providers, while Prof Abubakar Sambo, the former Director General, Energy Commission of Nigeria, would speak on technology.
