Some Youths in Taraba state have condemned the approval by the Federal Government to established Ruga settlement in some local government areas of the state.
The youths who were in a large number lead by the state Chairman National Youths Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Udi Adamu staged protest on the street of Jalingo on what they called misplacement of priority in the face of poverty, insecurity, armed robbery, banditry and increased on unemployment facing the society.

Some of the local government involved in Taraba state include Ibbi, Lau, Zing and Sarduana local government areas respectively.
According to Udi Adamu the Ruga settlement scheme which is a threat to tribes in Taraba state and the Nation at large, Fulani herdsmen troubling the state are alien tied with the ulterior motive to grab the lands of the original inhabitants.
The Chairman regretted that the Federal government kept doweling that the settlement will mitigate the kidnappings and killings by herdsmen and wonders why federal government allow Fulani to settled in States like Taraba, Benue, Oyo, Ebonyi and others ignoring core northern States like Katsina, Borno, Sokoto, Kebbi and others.
The Protestants who were seen with placards said they are unshackling and unwaveringly with the Taraba state government on the Ranching law, which according to them is the best way to settling conflict between herders and farmers in the state as accepted by people of goodwill across the globe.
The youths called on Governor Darius Ishaku to enforce the Open grazing and Ranching established law 2017 for the sake of peace and harmonious living.
Comrade Udi Adamu however, appealed to youths in Taraba to remained law abiding and support government’s genuine programs and policies that are geared to emancipating the people out of bondage of poverty and oppression.
