Tragedy has struck the Ahoro-Esinele community in Oyo State as one of the teachers abducted from Community High School was killed by his captors.

Mr. Michael Oyedokun was beheaded by suspected gunmen some hours ago. Reports indicate that the perpetrators filmed the execution and circulated the video online.
The latest development follows a violent attack on Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele, in Oriire Local Government Area on May 15, 2026. Between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM, armed gunmen invaded the school, abducting the principal, Mrs. Rachael Alamu, and several students. One teacher was shot and injured during the attack and is currently receiving medical attention.
The attackers reportedly escaped the scene in the principal’s personal car before fleeing into a bordering forest reserve.
The Oyo State Police Command had earlier confirmed the incident, with the Commissioner of Police personally leading a rescue and investigation team to the area. However, the exact number of abducted students is yet to be officially confirmed.
As of the time of this report, the Oyo State Government is yet to issue an official statement on Mr. Oyedokun’s killing. Security agencies have also not provided any update on efforts to rescue the remaining hostages.
The incident has sparked fear and outrage among residents, who are calling on authorities to intensify security operations in the region and ensure the safe release of all those still in captivity.
