TGNews Joins Adamawa in Mourning as Prominent Elder Baba Joshua Asogya Passes Away at 90

The media fraternity and the people of Adamawa State are mourning the passing of a respected community leader, Late Baba Joshua Asogya (JP), who died on Thursday, 14th May 2026, at the age of 90.

Born in January 1936, the late Baba Asogya was fondly remembered as a hero whose life touched many through decades of service, wisdom, and community leadership.

In a condolence statement released today, TGNews expressed deep sorrow over the demise of the elder statesman. Signed by the Publisher, Mr. Tom Garba, the statement described the late Baba Joshua Asogya as “a pillar of integrity, faith, and selfless service whose legacy will continue to inspire generations.”

“On behalf of the management and entire staff of TGNews, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Late Baba Joshua Asogya (JP), the church, and the good people of Adamawa State. His transition at the ripe age of 90 is a call to celebrate a life well spent in dignity and purpose. May God grant the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” the statement read.

According to the family, the following burial rites have been scheduled:

Wake Keep: Saturday, 16th May 2026, by 4:00 pm at the Family Residence, No. 53 Kurmi Road, Jimeta.

Church Service: Sunday, 17th May 2026, by 2:00 pm at Gospel Lutheran NEPA.

Internment: Immediately after the church service at Jimeta Cemetery, opposite Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola.

The statement further prayed that “the gentle soul of Baba Joshua Asogya rest in perfect peace.”

Tributes and messages of condolences have continued to pour in from across the state as family, friends, associates, and the Christian community remember the late nonagenarian for his exemplary life and contributions to society.
