The variance, romance and political intrigues of Nyako’s visit to Gov Fintiri of Adamawa State

The Executive Governor of Adamawa state, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri last Monday,24th June,2019 has received a personality who can be said of him an August visitor on the hallow chambers of the state’s council,Sen Abulaziz Murtala Nyako,the immediate passed Senator to have represented the central zone of the state under the banner of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Nyako from the opposition purview of the state’s politics haven contested to be the Governor of Adamawa state under the African Democratic Congress (ADC). A strong contender of Governor Umaru Fintiri with 113,237 votes to place third position. This happened prior to the 2019 elections when political alignment and realignment took place and Nyako left APC the party he rode on to be a senator and joined ADC,a party that gave a ticket to vie for the governorship seat of the state.

The question and the point of interest is that when did Nyako shelve out from the impeachment Saga of 14th July,2014 of his Father, the former Governor of Adamawa state, Rtd Admiral Hammanyero Nyako? Why the present Governor of the state, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umar Fintiri was the speaker of the state Assembly in 2014 hell led loosed on the Nyakos despite the much intervention from concern illustrious sons and daughters of the state,begging the later not to impeach Nyako but adamantly went to removed him as the executive governor?The catastrophic impeachment was widely adjudged and later described as a”Kangaroo impeachment” that the process of the impeachment was not properly followed. To further unravel the visit by Aziz,will it be asked that Senator Aziz is no more Loyal to ADC,his party of promised allegiance when defected from APC? Were the sins of Fintiri forgiven? Despite the political damaged coursed by Fintiri as a result of the impeachment? What’s the current political arithmetic permutation between Aziz,an ADC Man, Ahmadu Fintiri, a PDP Man,and former Governor Nyako and all his loyalists who is an APC man and a Senior stakeholder in the Party?

The hatred they both built against Bindo until the elections were over that led to the emergence of Fintiri as the executive governor after an inconclusive elections was done.

What seems like a u-turn statements,Aziz during the visit was quoted saying that:

“When my father was the governor, you were the speaker and you assisted with relevant laws that help in the entrenchment of peoples oriented programs.

“The Nyako family lost one of their own with the Governor not only paying condolence but was part of the programme till the end until prevailed to take a leave.

“And thirdly we are also at government house to encourage him (Fintiri).”

Aziz continue to say that ” in ADC, we preach welfare and security and worried about five things, Boko Haram, Herders/Farmers clashes, drug abuse, kidnapping and fighting the Shilla boys scourge”.

Aziz before now was on many occasion poignant and indignant to never cross ways with the present Governor, vowed to never have anything to do in common with him and all the collaborators of his Father impeachment, but his new leaf of life suggest that the hatched of hatred have been buried and never to rise again.

With the much of human empowerment and strides of development recorded during the senior Nyako regime. To any lover or die-hard of Nyako will tell you Governor Fintiri and co perpetrators sins of impeachment are unforgivable. The decision of Aziz is a good omen to the growth of Democracy in the state if it is done on a singular and genuine heart.

However Aziz Nyako’s alliance visit was described by political pundits that “there is more to it than meet the eyes,may be there was a strike deal and whatever it is, it may be known at the fullness of time.”

The organising Secretary of APC in the State,Alhaji Ahmad Lawan said the Visit of Aziz is nothing more than the interest that binds them somewhere in the political wheel of the state.

According to him the fact that Fintiri impeached his father that does not mean that duo political gladiators should be permanent enemies.

“In politics there is no permanent friends or permanent enemies, what is permanent is interest.” Lawan said

A political analyst and public commentator, Barr S A Ismaila said the action took by Nyako is nothing than a sportsmanship of a good politician. He said a good politician and a good leader should accept defeat in the interest of the general public who are fighting to leads them.

Another public commentator, Dr John Luka envisage the courtesy call done by Aziz as premonition of political realignment of Nyako at the later date.

Luka in his own view revealed that for Nyako to accept defeat is an indication that democracy is thriving in the country, but ask that will the two ever bury their differences? Will they really move together as one despite their party differences and interests? Or will Nyako set to defect to PDP what about his father in APC? Or is he the send John the Baptist who will make paths clean before the coming Messiah in Person of Murtala Nyako,one of the revered politician in the state? All said and done John consider the visit a good omen in the interest of Adamawa people.

The visit of Aziz Nyako no doubts shows that the loyalty and alligience is beyond comprehension of a mere eye to see and conclude or understand the underneath political variance that set them apart in a wide gap, the intrigues that is playing out may unravel the interest of Nyako defecting to PDP and the political sweet romance is a journey of togetherness to truly forge ahead the state or to forge ahead their political interest.

The State organizing secretary SDP in Adamawa state,Hon Aziz Jibrilla in a contrary view said ADC as opposition party was the brain behind the winning success of PDP in the state and the public considered the two men as partners in progress of their personal interest.

According to him ADC party reflected the votes of APC for PDP to win base on their arrangement that’s why Governor Fintiri mainstream them to the affairs of the government by given the Chairmanship of the transition committee to an ADC man.

“All I know Aziz has concluded arrangement to move to PDP party.” He said

Nyako Pledging to give Fintiri’s administration the needed support to lift Adamawa State out of the woods,noting the nostalgia of the new administration is a continuation of Nyako’s government because Fintiri was equally a strong stakeholder who supported Nyako with all the laws that led to the success of his Father’s administration.
