Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has presented a staff of office to the new Gubo Yungur, His Royal Majesty, Gubo Johnson Diyo Matalo, in a historic ceremony held in Dumne. The occasion marked a significant milestone for the Yungur people and the state as a whole.


In his speech, Governor Fintiri expressed his delight at the creation of the Yungur Chiefdom, which he said was a long-overdue recognition of the Yungur people’s identity and heritage. He noted that the chiefdom was endowed with vast fertile land, huge livestock resources, and favorable agricultural conditions, making it a potential food basket for the state.

The Governor urged the new Gubo to prioritize issues of security, justice, fairness, equity, tolerance, and solidarity within the chiefdom. He also called on him to design measures to mobilize the talented youth in the area away from vices and towards education, entrepreneurship, agriculture, and societal peace and development.
Governor Fintiri congratulated the Yungur people on the creation of their chiefdom and the new Gubo on his ascension to the throne. He assured them of his government’s commitment to supporting the chiefdom and promoting the welfare of its people.
The presentation of the staff of office marked a new era for the Yungur people, and Governor Fintiri’s speech emphasized the importance of unity, peace, and progress in the chiefdom and the state as a whole.
