Comrade Timi Frank, former National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has strongly condemned President Bola Tinubu’s silence on the mass demolition of houses in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) by Minister Nyesom Wike. Frank urged the President to intervene and halt the demolitions, warning that failure to do so may have repercussions during the 2027 presidential poll.

Frank criticized Wike’s actions, stating that the Minister is “terrorizing the FCT” and causing immense pain and loss for the owners of demolished houses. He also accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of being complicit in Wike’s “land grabbing posture.” Frank reminded the President that he, not Wike, will be on the ballot in 2027 and that Wike’s actions may cost him the election.

Frank described the situation as “inhuman” and warned that the demolitions will scare away foreign investors. He urged the President to take immediate action to address the suffering of the victims and ensure that their rights are protected. The former APC spokesperson emphasized that the President’s silence on the matter is a clear indication of his administration’s endorsement of illegality and disregard for the plight of ordinary Nigerians.

Frank’s condemnation comes as the demolitions continue to spark widespread outrage and concern among residents of the FCT. The Minister’s actions have been widely criticized, with many calling for his removal and an end to the demolitions. As the situation continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how the President will respond to the growing pressure to intervene.
