President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the appointment of Brigadier General Kunle Nafiu as the new Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), effective immediately. This decision underscores the administration’s commitment to revitalizing the NYSC and enhancing its role in national development.


Nafiu, a seasoned administrator with a track record of excellence in public service, is expected to bring fresh perspectives and innovative strategies to the NYSC. His appointment comes at a critical time when the scheme is being repositioned to address contemporary challenges and better serve Nigerian youths.
As a member of the 47 Regular Course, Nafiu is an Artillery Officer with extensive military training, having graduated from the Armed Forces Command and Staff College and the U.S. Army War College. He has also served as a Directing Staff at the Nigerian Army War College.
