Tinubu Appoints Dr. Emeka as New Chairman of SEDC, Names 5 New Executive Directors

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reshuffled his list of nominees for the South East Development Commission (SEDC) board. Dr. Emeka Nworgu has replaced Hon. Emeka Atuma as the new chairman, while Hon. Mark C. Okoye retains his position as the Commission’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer.

The President has also replaced the three initial executive directors with new nominees. Stanley Ohajuruka is the new executive director for finance, Toby Okechukwu is the new executive director of projects, and Chief Sylvester Okonkwo is now the executive director of corporate services. Two additional executive directors, Chidi Echeazu and Dr. Clifford Ogbede, have been nominated without a portfolio.

Other retained nominees include Barr. Ugochukwu H. Agballah, Hon. Okey Ezenwa, Chief Hyacinth Ikpor, Barr. Ifeanyi Agwu, Nasiru Usman, and Hamma Adama Ali Kumo. The nominees Edward David Onoja, Orure Kufre Inima, and Chief (Mrs.) Joke Adebayo-Chukwuma also retained their positions.

All the nominations are subject to Senate confirmation. President Tinubu expects the new nominees to utilize their experience and expertise to actualize the Commission’s mandate and develop the South East region.
