President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a new round of appointments and reappointments across key institutions in Nigeria’s education sector, in a move aimed at strengthening educational administration, technical development, and examination governance in the country.

Among the appointments approved by the President is the appointment of Prof. Modupe Adeola Adelabu as Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Examination Council (NECO).
Her appointment is expected to bolster policy direction and institutional oversight within the examination body.
President Tinubu also retained Prof. Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi as Registrar and Chief Executive of NECO, reaffirming confidence in his leadership and ongoing reforms within the council.
In the technical education sector, Prof. Babatunde Salako was appointed Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), while Prof. Idris M. Bugaje was reappointed as Executive Secretary of the board for a second and final five-year term.
The President further approved the appointment of Engr. Dr. Bongfa Binfa as Rector of the Federal Polytechnic N’yak-Shendam for a five-year tenure.
The appointment is expected to enhance academic and administrative leadership at the institution.
Also reappointed is Prof. Chinwe Veronica Anunobi, whose tenure as Director and Chief Executive of the National Library of Nigeria was renewed for a final five-year term.
The appointments reflect the administration’s continued focus on strengthening educational institutions through experienced leadership and continuity in critical sectors of national development.
