A devastating attack occurred in Rakok village, Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, on Wednesday, leaving three youths dead and two injured. The victims were ambushed while conducting their daily business activities in the community.

The Berom Youths Moulders Association strongly condemned the attack, emphasizing the recurring nature of such incidents in the area. National President Dalyop Mwantiri expressed deep sadness, urging security agencies to address the ongoing breaches and destruction of farm produce.
This incident is not an isolated one, as Plateau State has witnessed similar attacks in the past. In 2018, suspected Fulani herdsmen launched coordinated violent attacks on eleven communities in Riyom and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas, resulting in widespread destruction and loss of life.
Similarly, in February 2024, two Berom youths were killed by suspected Fulani militants and bandits. The frequency and severity of these attacks have raised concerns about the safety and security of residents in the area.

Plateau State has experienced a series of violent attacks, including the 2018 incidents that claimed 112 lives and injured 47 others. The ongoing violence has raised concerns about ethnic tensions, land disputes, and the role of militant groups in the region.
