The trailer, reportedly overloaded with passengers and livestock, lost control, spilling its cargo and wreckage across the outward service lane connecting the Secretariat to the expressway. Traffic officials from the FRSC and NPF remain on-site, valiantly managing the flow of vehicles to prevent secondary crashes and avert a full-blown gridlock. Vehicles exiting the Secretariat are now restricted to the left lane to access the roundabout, causing significant delays. Meanwhile, efforts are underway to clear the debris and restore normalcy to the roadway, though no timeline for completion has been announced.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, with authorities yet to determine whether mechanical failure, human error, or the precarious mix of human and animal cargo contributed to the incident.
