Travellers Stranded as Rain Washes Away Bridge in Taraba

A heavy downpour in Taraba State has washed away the alternative bridge built to replace the collapsed Namne bridge along the Jalingo-Wukari road in Gassol Local Government Area. The incident has left many motorists stranded, forcing them to divert to Garba-Chede town in Bali Local Government Area to continue their journey.

The collapse of the bridge has caused inconvenience to travelers and raised concerns about the state of infrastructure in the region

Governor Agbu Kefas had awarded the contract for the reconstruction of the bridge last month, but the contractors were yet to be mobilized to the site. Motorists expressed disappointment over the federal government’s failure to reconstruct the bridge before the start of the rainy season.

The collapse of the bridge has caused inconvenience to travelers and raised concerns about the state of infrastructure in the region.
