The United States has strongly condemned the violent activities of Boko Haram and other terrorist groups in Nigeria, describing their actions as a blatant disregard for human life. In a statement, the US Mission in Nigeria reiterated its commitment to supporting the Nigerian government in its efforts to counter terrorism and promote peace and stability in the region.
The US designated Boko Haram as a Foreign Terrorist Organization in 2013, and has since worked to block the group’s assets and fundraising efforts, prosecute individual members, and restrict their travel to the United States. The US has also been providing support to Nigeria and regional partners to counter the threat posed by Boko Haram and other terrorist groups.
The US Mission in Nigeria has implemented comprehensive monitoring and evaluation systems to ensure that its assistance reaches the intended recipients and is used effectively. This includes supporting programs to improve the well-being of orphans and vulnerable children, as well as helping to develop a monitoring and evaluation framework for the country’s health sector.

The US has called on all parties to respect human rights and to work towards a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
