Notorious bandit leader Bello Turji has been spotted in eastern Sokoto, where he’s allegedly imposed a whopping ₦25 million levy on villages.

According to Aminu Boza, a member of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Turji is currently operating in the Isa and Sabon Birni axis of Sokoto, and has even gone as far as imposing a ₦25 million levy per village in some communities. Boza is calling for urgent action to be taken against Turji, urging security agencies and local authorities to step up their operations against bandits.

This comes after the Chief of Defence stated that Turji is on the run and that everything possible will be done to bring him down. The situation is certainly dire, and it’s imperative that something is done to address the issue of banditry in the region.
With Turji’s latest demands, it’s clear that he’s becoming increasingly brazen, and it’s up to the authorities to take decisive action to stop him. The people of Sokoto are living in fear, and it’s time for the government to take concrete steps to ensure their safety and security.
