In a heartfelt statement, Garba lauded Fintiri’s visionary leadership, declaring that his “vision, courage, and unwavering commitment” have redefined the trajectory of Adamawa State, transforming it into a beacon of progress and hope.

“Fellow residents of Adamawa State, today we stand at the threshold of history, marking two remarkable years of leadership under His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri,” Garba wrote. “As the publisher of TGNews, it is both an honor and a privilege to pen this tribute to a man who has become a builder of bridges and a champion of progress.”

Since assuming office on May 29, 2023, Governor Fintiri has spearheaded a transformative agenda that has reshaped Adamawa’s landscape. Garba highlighted the governor’s urban renewal projects, including the commissioning of roads, flyovers, and other infrastructure, as emblematic of Fintiri’s commitment to restoring dignity and fostering economic vitality.

Your Excellency, you are one of the best governors if I should make a choice

The iconic Jimeta flyover, celebrated as a symbol of modern Adamawa, has not only eased traffic congestion but also elevated the state’s profile on a global stage, earning praise from former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who dubbed Fintiri “Mr. Projects.”

“Your Excellency, you are one of the best governors if I should make a choice,” Garba declared, emphasizing Fintiri’s ability to deliver “gigantic projects” despite economic challenges. “The past 24 months have been a testament to a leadership style that blends pragmatism with passion, touching every corner of Adamawa, from the bustling streets of Yola to the serene plains of Toungo.”

Fintiri’s administration has also been hailed for its inclusive governance. His engagement with diverse communities, such as the Lunguda Ethnic Nationality, and the creation of new Emirates and Chiefdoms have empowered marginalized groups, giving them a voice in the state’s development.

A “peacemaker” who has lifted communities “out of the woods of modern slavery

Garba echoed the sentiments of HRH Dr. Dishon Dasanda II, who described Fintiri as a “peacemaker” who has lifted communities “out of the woods of modern slavery.” These efforts, Garba noted, reflect a leader who risks all to protect the mandate entrusted to him by the people.

Beyond infrastructure and inclusivity, Fintiri’s humility and faith have set him apart. A devout Muslim, the governor has shunned lavish celebrations, opting for reflection and service. “His call for prayers over pomp reveals a leader grounded in the values of stewardship and accountability,” Garba wrote, likening Fintiri to the Biblical King Solomon for his pursuit of wisdom in leadership.

Opportunities abound, peace reigns, and progress is shared by all

As Adamawa marks this milestone, Garba called on all citizens, including those in the diaspora, to heed Fintiri’s call to action and contribute to building a state where “opportunities abound, peace reigns, and progress is shared by all.” He urged Adamawans to see the anniversary as a charge to “do more, serve more, and unite more.”

The tribute concluded with a salute to Fintiri’s unwavering commitment to Adamawa’s collective destiny. “Your record of achievements speaks louder than any accolade,” Garba wrote.

“The roads you have built, the bridges you have erected, and the hope you have restored are the true eulogies of your tenure. Happy two-year anniversary, Your Excellency. Adamawa celebrates you, and TGNews stands with you as partners in this historic journey.”

As festivities continue across the state, with events showcasing Fintiri’s projects, the people of Adamawa are rallying behind their governor, inspired by his vision for a prosperous future.

With two years of transformative governance behind him, Fintiri’s leadership continues to chart a path toward a greater Adamawa, one that, as Garba envisions, “will be remembered for generations as a land of promise fulfilled.”
