Adamawa State Deputy Governor Chief Crowther Seth has appealed to the Christian community to maintain unity as a cardinal principle of togetherness so that insecurity can be curtailed.
Chief Set made the disclosure while attending four separate church services in two local Government areas of Toungo and Ganye.
The Deputy Governor was at St Mary Catholic Church Toungo, LCCN no 1 Toungo, St Martin Catholic Church Toungo and LCCN no 1 Ganye. The Deputy Governor informed the separate church congregation that when there is disunity in the church, evil doers tend to have the opportunity to penetrate and to commit atrocities against the people. He further decried the level of kidnapping, farmers/herders clashes and boko haram insurgency that is still troubling the state. He thereafter urged Christians to remain fervent in prayers.
Rev Pius Ayuba of the LCCN no 1 Toungo read from the book of Psalms 145: 8-21 urging Christians to have confidence in God and to live a righteous life worthy of emulation.
Since the advent of the Fintiri led administration, the Deputy Governor has made it a point of Duty to be touring round churches in the 21 local Governments Areas for Sunday Service with a view to strengthening the resolve of Christians and to also thank them for effecting a change of leadership in the state through the ballot process.
The Deputy Governor was accompanied by top Government functionaries and several dignitaries.
