Unidentified gunmen have killed the Secretary of Lau Chiefdom in Taraba state, Malam Abdullahi Aboki on Friday night, aged 62.
It was gathered that the gunmen about ten in number forced their way into the house of the victim in Kunini town, Headquarters of Lau Chiefdom at about 1am and rain several shots on him leading to his instant death.
It was also gathered that the gunmen on entering into the victim’s house, ordered him to open doors to the house but he refused.
It was further gathered that the victim raised an alarm but nobody came to his rescue as the gunmen gained entry into the house.
The Victim’s Wife identified as Adama and his three months child also identified as Abubakar were also shot by the gunmen.
Both Adama and her child survived and are currently on admission at the Federal Medical center Jalingo.
A source told our Correspondent that Abubakar, the three months child was shot on the leg and the leg was amputated.
A Junior brother of the deceased, Aminu Kunini also revealed that they suspected higher killers as responsible for the killing of his brother because nothing was removed from the house of the victim.
Police Public Relations Officer, Taraba State Command, DSP David Misal confirmed the incident.
