A passionate plea for better representation has echoed through Lere West constituency in Kaduna State, as concerns mount over the perceived inactivity of their representative in the state assembly.

A decade-long absence of meaningful contributions and developmental projects from Hon. Bashar Gatari

DogaraCaesar Garun Kurama, a constituent, has voiced his frustrations, citing a decade-long absence of meaningful contributions and developmental projects from Hon. Bashar Gatari, their elected representative since 2015.

Kurama’s concerns are compounded by the impressive track records of other representatives in the area, including Rt. Hon. Ahmed Munir, Hon. Abubakar Buba, and Hon. Jafaru Ahmed. In contrast, Gatari’s performance has left much to be desired, prompting Kurama to issue a clarion call for improved representation.

The stakes are high, with only two years left until 2027. Kurama emphasizes the need for a representative who actively engages with constituents’ concerns, brings their issues to the forefront, and makes a tangible impact on the community.

He was elected for the job, and he mustn’t shy away from it

He invites Gatari to demonstrate his contributions over the past decade or consider stepping aside for the greater good.

This call to action is not meant to undermine Gatari’s position but to encourage him to fulfill his responsibilities. As Kurama aptly puts it, “He was elected for the job, and he mustn’t shy away from it.”

The people of Lere West constituency deserve better, and it’s time for their representative to step up and deliver.
