A former General Manager of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Engr. Joseph Ciroma, has called on Nigerian youths to see education not only equips them for personal success but also empowers them to contribute meaningfully to societal betterment.
He believed that the youths of the country have major roles to play towards ensuring Nigeria in the future is not left behind in all spheres of life in community of nations.
Speaking on Saturday at the graduation and matriculation ceremony of Guraraland College of Health Technology, Kachia, Kachia local government area of Kaduna State, he said, “l want to employ all of you to judiciously use every opportunity you have to ensure your futures are bright and be of great help to yourselves, state and the country as a whole so that the future of Nigeria will be able to compete favourably with other nations of the world in all spheres of life.”
Ciroma reminded the students that they are living in a competitive world where the best is needed to be able to occupy any good position, advising them to grab the opportunity to excel in whatever they lay their hands to do.
As future medical personnel, the former General Manager enjoined to remain focus in their field of studies as they are going to deal with human beings, saying, “you need to put in your best to able to face any medical challenge a patient will approach you with. You also stand better chances to proof to the world that you have gotten qualitative training for you to prove yourselves anywhere you find yourselves.”
He advised the matriculating students to take their studies serious and reject anything that would distract their attention to their success.
