Members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) has arrested a 39-year-old Haruna Adamu for allegedly defiling a 5-year-old girl in Jalingo local government area of Taraba state.

parading the suspect before newsmen, the VGN Commander, Jalingo local government Command, Munir Bello said that the suspect was apprehended by his men at about 4 pm in the victim father’s house behind gateway clinic in Jalingo.

According to him, the suspect who was hired to do renovation work in the house on Tuesday was alleged to have committed the evil act when the unsuspecting parent went out and left the girl with her sister.

Meanwhile, the investigation revealed that this is not the first time the suspect, Haruna Adamu was caught off in committing such crime.

However, three notorious gun-runners on Wednesday were also intercepted by the Nigerian Army in Yerimaru village, a suburbs of Kaka town, in Mambilla Plateau, Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State with over 800 AK 47 ammunition on their way to the Republic of Cameroon.

Confirming the arrest, Taraba State Police spokesman, DSP David Misal said the suspect’s names withhold are said to be members of the Cameroonian’s Ambazonia who stayed along with the Nigerian border areas of Fufure, Tongo and Jada LGAs of Adamawa state as well as Sardauna and Kurmi in Taraba State.

According to Misal, the military also arrested one Saleh Koshila a Nigerian Ambazonia logistics supplier who attempted to obtain bail for the criminals.

He revealed that the house of the suspect has been searched but could not tell our correspondent whether or not the police have recovered any weapons.

The suspect is currently in the police custody in Jalingo, the state capital for further prosecution.
