Former Member representing Verre Constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Aliyu Salihu Kabillo, has called for support and corporation for the incumbent member representing the constituency, Hon. Abdullahi Umar Yapak, to enable him provide quality representation for people at the grassroots.
Hon. Kabillo, made the call shortly after withdrawing his petition filed against Hon. Yapak, at the State Assembly Petition Tribunal, holden at Yola, the Adamawa State capital.
It could be recalled that Hon. Kabillo, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Verre constituency state house of assembly during the 2019, general election, dragged Hon. Yapak of All Progressives Congress (APC) before the Tribunal citing irregularities in the election that brought him to power.
But Hon. Kabillo, on Monday this week approached the court and demanded for the withdrawal of his suit earlier instituted against Hon. Yapak.
The former Majority Leader of the 5th Assembly cited personal reasons, unity, peace and the overall progress of Verre constituency as grounds for the withdrawal of his case.
But while presiding over the case, the Chairman of the Tribunal, Hon. Justice S. Akanbi, granted the application for the withdrawal of the petition, saying the court has no objection for the withdrawal.
Hon. Justice Akanbi, declared that since all the parties involved had been duly served with the affidavit, the petitioner is at liberty to withdrawa his petition; thereby, granting the application for the withdrawal of the suit.
In his reaction, Hon. Kabillo, said he decided to end the matter at the court for personal reasons, and however appealed to his teeming supporters to rally round the present member to enable him provide more dividends of democracy to the people at the grassroots.
He further called on the people of Verre constituency to render unalloyed support to Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, led administration to enable it succeed in meeting the yearnings and aspirations of the citizens in the state.
