The important thing about being a leader is not what happens when you’re in the office. The key to a leader’s effectiveness is how his policies positively affects his people and what will be said about him even after the end of his tenure.
A good public policy should always have a good economic domino effect, this is especially true where public funds are invested in sectors that have great potentials in instigating economic development. We have seen a lot of people that were trusted with public funds, but ended up accumulating wealth for themselves, buying flashy cars, and building edifies that only last for a season.
Someone once told me that the reward is in the journey. What this means is that the results are not as important as the experience along the way.
Hon. Wenakam Wesley Fwah is the Executive Chairman of Demsa LGA in his second year, but his leadership imprints are great to the extent that some people began to asked if he had another source of income apart from the allocation from the federation account.
Hon. Wenakam and his cabinet decided not to loot the local Government funds in order to work for the people of Demsa Local Government so as to emulate the Adamawa state Governor, His Excellency, Alh Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri by bringing development to the grassroot.
Some notable achievements Hon Wenakam recorded includes but not limited to:
1.Purchase of vast land for CAN Christian Association of Nigeria,
1.Purchase of vast land for CAN Christian Association of Nigeria, Demsa L.G.A
2. Construction of a clinic in Kpasham ward.
3.Construction of the Muslim council secretariat in Demsa.
4. Construction of primary healthcare clinic at Kwaniye l.
5. Construction of Dong Central Market.
6. Construction of a Mini-Bridge at Borong.
7. Construction of culvert for the Bille community.
8. Fencing of the LGA secretariat.
9. Construction of new market at Borong.
10. Youth Empowerment: training tailors and purchase of sewing machines. Training and POS purchase machines. Startup capital and purchases of clippers for barbers.
11. Construction of primary healthcare clinic for the Nzonwaling community.
12. Construction of primary healthcare clinic for the Ganigaku community.
Hon. Fwah obeyed the natural law of farming which states that: I must prepare the ground, put in the seed, cultivate it, weed it, water it, gradually nurture it to growth, before I partake in the fruits.
While we see leaders go for quick-fix solutions that makes them appear favorable to the people, Hon. Fwah saw to it that a process must be followed so as to have an enduring greatness.
There’s an ethic of responsibility and a point where competence meet circumstances. Hon. Fwah showed an acute sense of commitment to the outcomes that have enormous potentials of producing prodigious efforts.
He is a leader with strong character. His character is what leadership philosophers described as based on accelerated principle, underwritten by superior habits and polished by experience.
The achievements recorded by Fwah can not be possible without the support from the Adamawa State Governor The fresh air Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the traditional rulers, elders, as well as the very supportive legislative arm of Demsa Local Government.
Hon. Fwah is indeed a principle-centred leader that deserves our support at all times. We call on all sons and daughters of Demsa Local Government and the entire people of Adamawa State to rally round Hon. Wenakam Wesley Fwah in order to succeed and bring more development to the people of Demsa Local Government.
