Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, Nigeria’s National Security Adviser (NSA) has been commended for his down-to-earth, pragmatic and sober leadership style.
The commendation was made by the Adamawa state chairman of the All Progresives Congress (APC) Barr Idris Shuaibu who praised the NSA for his capacity to maintain relationships with supporters even in death following his visit to the families of Hon Isa Ahmed and Balaraba Paris two of his core supporters who passed to the great beyond last year and early this year respectively.
The NSA was in Yola to mourn his elder brother, Mr. Salihu Ahmadu Ribadu, who died early in the week. But despite being in mourning, Ribadu still created time out of his tight schedule to pay condolence visits to the families of the two supporters and sympathized with them.
Commending Ribadu, the APC stalwart said the uncommon gesture is a reflection of deep seated respect for humanity, kindness, progressive and sober leadership which Ribadu amply possessed.
“I was actually taken off balance by the show of spiritedness, uncommon kindness and progressive leadership displayed by the NSA who visited the families of his supporters despite the fact that he is also bereaved.
“It gladdens my heart that Mallam has remembered those who stood by his side in thick and thin and at a time when the families need some crumb of comfort and solace to whether some of the challenges of existence.
“This is an eloquent testimony that Ribadu is a leader with milk of human kindness and it is also a reminder that our investment in Ribadu is not in vein and our support for Ribadu is not in error. We are glad to be with a leader full of humility and who appreciate and respect his supporters without recourse to their social class,” he said.
