The Director-General of West African Gas Pipeline Authority (WAGPA), Barrister Chafari Kanya Hanawa has done a befitting burial to her late Brother, Comrade Gyamanu Shadrach Hanawa.
The death of the Adamawa former Politician and a Labour Unionist who died after a protracted sickness in Yola, Federal medical center (FMC) made tears roll down the chicks of many prominent personalities to have loss good humane personally in Hanawa.
Chafari is in Yola and received condolence messages from the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Boss Mustapha, Member representing Gombi/Hong, Hon Yusuf Buba Yakubu (Captain), a delegation from Radio, Television, and Theater Workers Union (RATTAWU and a delegation from Adamawa Television (ATV) and commiserated with the family members of Shadrach.
Adamawa State RATTAWU in a condolence letter signed by its Chairman, Comrade Shehu Sa’ad Boloware while presenting the letter to Barr Chafari said the death of Comrade Hanawa is tragic loss not to them alone but to the entire RATTAWU family.
They extolled late Shadrach of being a great unionist who ensured the existence of RATTAWU in Adamawa State and grew up the union to the National limelight.
WAGPA Director-General while responding to the condolence letter presented by RATTAWU worried that Hanawa has played a Fatherly role in her life journey who helped her built a career in WAPGA.
In tears she called RATTAWU to remain part of the family and as her Brother was part of the Union even to his date.
The wake keep on Wednesday brought together hundreds of people, especially politicians, Senior civil servants in Adamawa as our correspondent saw Justice Nathan Musa, Chief Judge of Adamawa Judiciary, former head of service, Dr . Louis Manama, Member representing Hong, Hon Bathiya Wesley, Adamawa Governorship aspirant and a former member of Hong Constituency, Dr Pharmacist Wafari Theman Dallatu many politicians cutting across the 21 local government of the state.
SGF who have earlier visited Barr Chafari to console the family in Abuja has our reporters saw many of his loyalists at the wake-keep and many of them followed down the remains of Ngamanu to Garaha, his hometown in Hong local government area of the state for the final interment.
Dr. Mandama who is close ally of SGF Boss said Ngamanu was a freedom fighter and activist per excellent who worked so hard in the service of the Adamawa State Government and retired peacefully even though with lots of energy.
The Provost of the Adamawa State College of Education Hong, Prof Yusuf Benson Baha on Wednesday morning was at Shadrach’s House also,commiserated with Barr Chafari and other family members and said it was a great loss to Adamawa State.
The burial in Garaha were hundreds of mourners gathered at the LCCN Church with many shedding tears to mourn the veteran unionist who worked and retired successfully with Adamawa Television (ATV) calls for sober reflection as the preacher during the sermon saud; ” for we to die is gain and for we to live is Christ.”
