WAGPA’s DG Barr Chafari’s Heartwarming Christmas Gift: 320 Bags of Rice Bless 5 Churches & Mosque in Adamawa

‎In a touching display of interfaith harmony and generosity, Mrs. Chafari Kanya Hanawa, the Director General of the West African Gas Pipeline Authority (WAGPA), has donated 220 bags of 20kg rice to five churches and one mosque in Garaha District, Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

‎The donation, presented as a Christmas and New Year gift, was handed over on behalf of the DG by Dr. Harvard Hanawa. The beneficiaries, located in the Garaha community, include Christian congregations and a Muslim place of worship, underscoring a message of unity and shared celebration during the festive season.

‎WAGPA, the regulatory body for the West African Gas Pipeline Company Limited (WAPCo), oversees regional energy infrastructure, but its leader’s personal gesture highlights community support beyond official duties. The rice distribution aims to alleviate economic pressures on worship centers and their members amid rising food costs in Nigeria.

‎Recipients expressed profound gratitude, noting that the timely aid would help families celebrate the holidays with dignity. Local leaders praised Mrs. Hanawa’s initiative for promoting religious tolerance in a diverse region like Adamawa, which has a mix of Christian and Muslim populations.

‎”This act of kindness transcends faith boundaries and reminds us of our shared humanity,” said one community elder at the presentation ceremony.

‎The donation comes at a time when many Nigerians face hardship due to inflation, making such philanthropic efforts particularly impactful. Mrs. Hanawa, known as Barr Chafari, continues to embody leadership that extends to social responsibility.
