Walin Ganye Donates ₦2.65 Million to Boost Science, Technology Education at Atiku Abubakar Centre

The Atiku Abubakar Centre for Arabic and Islamic Studies, Ganye, has received a donation of ₦2.65 million from the Walin Ganye, Alhaji Sadiq Muhammad, to procure science equipment as part of efforts to transform the institution into a modern centre of learning equipped for science, technology, and digital education.

The development was disclosed by the Secretary General of the Centre’s Governing Board, Malam Muhammadu Sani Jada, during a royal visit to the Gangwari Ganye, His Royal Highness Alhaji Umar Adamu Sanda, on Sunday.

According to Malam Sani Jada, the intervention is designed to reposition the Centre beyond its traditional focus on Arabic and Islamic studies by integrating science education, computer literacy, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and virtual learning technologies into its academic framework.

He explained that the donation would be used to acquire science equipment capable of exposing students to emerging technologies and preparing them for opportunities in an increasingly knowledge-driven and technology-oriented world.

“To ensure transparency and effective implementation, a committee has been constituted to oversee the procurement and deployment of the equipment,” he said.

The committee is chaired by Hajiya Mairo Hamman Adama, who also serves as Chairperson of the Centre’s Management Committee.

The delegation that paid the royal visit included Dr. Suleiman Gidado, Secretary of the Management Board; Alhaji Gidado Imam Jada, a member of the Governing Board; and Hajiya Mairo Hamman Adama.

During the visit, the royal father was briefed on the institution’s academic milestones, including the outstanding achievement of a student who recorded the highest score in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) within Ganye Chiefdom.

Malam Sani Jada further revealed that the Centre has produced approximately 100 graduates over the years, many of whom have successfully completed university education across Nigeria and are contributing to national development in various sectors.

Responding, the Gangwari Ganye commended the Walin Ganye for his sustained support for education, religious advancement, and human capital development in the chiefdom.

He expressed gratitude for the donation and requested that members of the delegation convey his appreciation to the benefactor on behalf of the people of Ganye Chiefdom.

The traditional ruler also pledged to personally reach out to Alhaji Sadiq Muhammad to thank him for what he described as a significant contribution to the advancement of education and societal development.
