Taraba state Police Commissioner Alkasim Sanusi says they have succeeded in bringing the conflict between Tivs and Jukun around Benue and Taraba states axis to an end.
He disclosed this while briefing newsmen at the Police Command’s Headequarters in Jalingo, the state capital on the success recorded in recent time by his men.
The CP explained that the crisis between the two tribes was resolved in two ways which includes the use of force, while the other means was through dialogue and conflict resolution following a meeting between the police and other stakeholders held in Wukari local government area of Taraba state.
Alkasim Sanusi further revealed that the command were also succeeded in arresting five suspected kidnappers in the process of collecting ransom, while another suspected kidnapper was apprehended with a rifle in the process of kidnapping his victim whom are leaving in the same town, in Gassol local government area of the state.
However, four cattle rustlers were also arrested by the police where they recovered fifty eight cattle and ten caws from them, while another suspect was arrested in Takum local government who connived with his friends and beat his employer to death as a result of non payment of salary among other criminals.
