The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, on Saturday warned that Nigerians must do the right thing to avoid looming anarchy.
He spoke when he attended Mr an event at the Mater Dei Catholic Cathedral in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.
He said, “If we don’t do the right thing there will be anarchy and anarchy will consume all of us, whether you are a governor, whether you are a bishop…
“We must fix this place now. It is unacceptable that we are living in a country with all the facilities God gave us for free and millions of people do not know where the next meal will come from. That is unacceptable.
“What we need is the government’s support to export things so that we can make a living. We have to stop being a consuming nation.”
Obi, before attending the church event, visited Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu at the governor’s country home in Umuobiakwa, Obingwa Local Government Area.
According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Onyebuchi Ememanka, the LP candidate and Ikpeazu met in the morning.
“They discussed a wide range of issues ranging from security, economy and politics. They also had a private breakfast session.
“Governor Ikpeazu presented him with a Souvenir bag containing the first ever Abia State Long Term Development Plan and the Abia State Industrial Policy which was presented to the Governor yesterday by ECOWAS Representative at the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation,” Ememanka said.
