A veteran Journalist, Mr Macauley Hunohashi who made a stitch name in the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) and left indelible records in the African first premier television made a passionate call to Nigerians to support news mediums like the General News, publisher of the Tgnews online platform.

Macauley who is a Media chief consultant of a multinational business conglomerate, authored books, and many Governors and senators consulted him to X-ray their political stands.

The former Senior Special Assistant to Senator Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow while a Governor of Adamawa State praised the consistency of Tom Garba, the brain behind the steady growth of Tgnews and vividly recalled how midwifed his news gathering and dissemination outlet, which was restricted to only social media.

Macauley in a statement appreciated the Tgnews growing pace and made a passionate appeal to other media executives, international donor agencies, and well-meaning Nigerians to support growing media organizations like Tgnews to remain relevant in dishing out reliable information for public consumption.

He said:

“Despite mounting political, financial, and environmental challenges that stood as impediments to his vision to attain a higher pedestal, the highly spirited Tom took the gauntlet, remained focused resilient, and determined with a view to achieving his chosen professional objective.

“He started alone, then ferreted for a few good hands and recruited them for the daunting task ahead. He made friends he made enemies, all in the course of his journalistic journey. He stepped on his toes writing stories that exposed corruption, as well as stories that celebrated feats and attainments. He made mistakes and learned from those same mistakes.

“National newspapers took note of his unwavering professional disposition, and that landed him a job with the newly revived Daily Times as Adamawa State correspondent.

“He further exposed his journalistic prowess, using the Daily Times, Nigerian Tribune, US EpochTimess, and US Zenger News platforms to craft stories emanating from Adamawa State. He’s joined the league of journalists who have the aura of national fervor.

“Tom has maintained a steady course, expanding his reach and scope of coverage on various platforms, as he remains the delight of his readers.
Today Tom Garba has floated his newspaper, with the well-known title of TG News, to report ‘just the fact’.
I celebrate TG News top management and staff, and pledge my unflinching support for the attainment of lofty journalistic heights.” Macauley said

The news platform is breaking up fallow ground with its vision to start a print version, online TV, and a well-circulating online version of the medium.
