Taraba State Deputy Governor, Haruna Manu, has vowed that the state government will go after the people that looted government facilities and property of private citizens.

Manu stated this when he inspected the destruction at the Hope Afresh Foundation, a non-governmental organisation of the wife of the Governor, Anna Darius Ishaku, at Kona road in Jalingo.

The deputy governor, who expressed disappointment over damages caused by the looters, said the government would go after them to prevent a recurrence.

Manu said, “This is really unfortunate. This is not government property. This is an initiative of the wife of the governor meant for the people of the state.

“The foundation is a training centre that has done much for the people of the state. I am at a loss as to why the looters did what they did.

“As a government, we are certainly going to go after the looters and bring them to book to serve as a deterrent to others.

“We have directed security agencies to go after the looters to serve as a deterrent to others.”

Meanwhile, the Taraba State Police Command has said they have arrested 23 suspected hoodlums in connection to the looting that took place in the state.

Police Public Relations Officer, DSP David missal, announced this while briefing journalists in Jalingo.
