The media team of Comrade Mustapha Salihu has projected the APC chieftain as a leading contender in the race for the party’s governorship ticket in Adamawa State ahead of the 2027 elections, describing him as a politician with the experience, intellectual depth, and grassroots connection needed to lead the state.

In an opinion piece released on Monday by the Directorate of Strategic Communication of the Comrade Mustapha Salihu Campaign Organization, Salihu was portrayed as a “front runner” in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries and a candidate with broad appeal across party structures and communities.

The campaign organisation argued that Salihu’s background as a former student leader, retired soldier, banker, lawyer, and party administrator has prepared him for the demands of governance.

It also pointed to his doctorate degree in Peace and Conflict Resolution as evidence of his understanding of leadership, conflict management, and community engagement.

According to the statement, Salihu’s nearly decade-long experience as a party leader has strengthened his relationship with APC stakeholders from the grassroots to the national level.

The media team noted that he relates with party leaders and members with “equal respect,” often referring to them as colleagues and family during campaign engagements.

The opinion piece further stated that the governorship aspirant has consistently preached unity within the APC, urging party members to support whoever eventually emerges as the party’s flag bearer. This, the campaign team said, reflects statesmanship and political maturity among the contestants.

The organisation also highlighted Salihu’s engagement with traditional rulers across Adamawa State, describing it as part of his broader vision for inclusive governance.

According to the statement, the APC aspirant believes traditional institutions remain critical to security, community mobilisation, moral guidance, and cultural preservation, especially in rural communities where government presence may be limited.

The media team maintained that Salihu’s ideas on governance and service delivery are “unique and revolutionary,” while insisting that his connection with ordinary citizens and party loyalists gives him a strong advantage ahead of the primaries.

It concluded by urging APC delegates and stakeholders to rally behind Salihu, whom it described as a loyal party man who embodies resilience, commitment, and capacity to lead Adamawa State.
