In a nationwide broadcast from the Oval Office on Saturday night, President Donald Trump addressed the American people following a series of U.S. military strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities—Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
The operation, which marked the first direct U.S. military involvement in the escalating Israel-Iran conflict, was described by Trump as a necessary action to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and to protect U.S. and allied interests in the Middle East.
Flanked by Vice President JD Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Trump explained the rationale behind the strikes, emphasizing the imminent threat posed by Iran’s nuclear program.
“Iran has been the bully of the Middle East, threatening our great ally Israel and destabilizing the entire region,” Trump declared.

“Their nuclear facilities were on the verge of producing weapons that could have been used against America, Israel, and our partners. We could not allow that to happen. Nobody does it better than the U.S. military, and we took decisive action to obliterate those capabilities.”
The President detailed the operation, highlighting the use of B-2 stealth bombers to deliver GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrators, or “bunker busters,” to destroy the heavily fortified Fordow facility, alongside strikes on Natanz and Isfahan.

“These were surgical, precise, and spectacularly successful,” Trump said, crediting the U.S. military’s “unmatched strength and skill.” He noted that the strikes were coordinated with Israel, which had been conducting its own airstrikes on Iranian targets since June 13 in response to concerns over Iran’s nuclear advancements.
Trump framed the decision as a fulfillment of his commitment to global stability and American strength. “I promised to keep America safe and to stand by our allies. Israel, under attack from Iran’s proxies and threats, needed our support. We sent a clear message: nobody threatens the United States or our friends and gets away with it,” he stated.

He also invoked his “peace through strength” doctrine, arguing that the strikes were a necessary step to deter Iran from further aggression.
Addressing concerns about escalation, Trump called on Iran’s leadership to pursue peace. “This is their chance to make peace and avoid further tragedy,” he said. “If they don’t, we have many other targets we can hit with precision, speed, and skill—faster and harder than they can imagine.”
He reiterated his desire to avoid a broader conflict, saying, “We don’t want war, but we will not allow Iran to hold the world hostage with nuclear threats.”

The President concluded his address with a message of unity and resolve, stating, “God bless Israel, God bless the United States, and may God guide us toward peace in the Middle East.” He expressed gratitude to the U.S. military and called for national support for the troops.
As tensions simmer, Trump’s address underscored his administration’s readiness to act decisively while urging diplomacy to prevent further conflict.
