As the world celebrates the 2025 Workers’ Day, the Nigeria Labour Congress has demanded the upward review of retirement age for all categories of civil servants to 65 years.

NLC President, Joe Ajaero, made this demand, on Thursday, during the May Day celebration at the Eagle Square, Abuja.

Presenting some demands of the organised labour, Ajaero said, “It is imperative to extend the revised retirement age of 65 years or 40 years of service currently enjoyed by teachers, health professionals, and judges to all public servants.”

It should be noted that teachers in the employment of the government at all levels are enjoying the implementation of a new retirement age, an act signed into law by the former president, Muhammadu Buhari.
