World-Renowned Scholar Prof. Umar Pate Sought For Beaconhouse National University’s Global Advisory Council

In a bold move to elevate its status as a global hub of academic excellence, Beaconhouse National University (BNU), Pakistan’s premier liberal arts institution, has extended an invitation to distinguished international scholar Prof. Umaru Pate to join its newly envisioned International Advisory Council. The invitation, penned by BNU’s Vice Chancellor Dr. Moeed Yusuf, underscores the university’s ambition to blend interdisciplinary education with global perspectives, fostering a new generation of impactful citizens.

Dr. Yusuf, who transitioned from his role as Pakistan’s National Security Adviser to lead BNU in June 2023, emphasized the institution’s unique position as the country’s first not-for-profit liberal arts university. Established in 2003, BNU has carved a niche by hosting students from all eight South Asian nations and offering a vibrant mix of disciplines through its eight schools, including the Mariam Dawood School of Visual Arts & Design, the School of Management Sciences, and the Institute of Psychology.

The International Advisory Council, a cornerstone of Dr. Yusuf’s vision, will comprise leading global experts tasked with providing strategic guidance to position BNU as a trailblazer among its peers. Members, serving in an honorary capacity, will convene for one or two hybrid meetings annually, offering insights on policies, programs, and initiatives. Dr. Yusuf expressed confidence that Prof. Pate’s expertise would enrich BNU’s trajectory, creating a ripple effect in academia and beyond.
