World TB Day: JHF gives free treatment to Adamawa IDPs

On commomeration to mark the 2018 TB and HIV day,Janna Health Foundation (JHF) has during the last weekend visited the Fufore internally displaced persons (IDPs) of Fufore LG area of Adamawa state and freely treated hundreds of IDPs in the camp.

The Foundation also went to host communities and conducted free screening and gave free drugs to hundeds of people who were been diagnosed of TB or HIV.

Adamawa state Executive Secretary of ADSACA,Dr. Stephen John Said the organization is doing part of its corporate social responsibilities,bringing awareness to hundreds and thousands of people who are ignorant that the duo killer diseases can be treated freely with the help of international donor agencies.

John who is also the founder of Foundation and organised the event to mark the World TB Day with Volunteers and in collaboration with the LGA and camp officials revealed that TB and HIV are still the leading killer diseases in the world especially in the developing country.

According to him Nigeria and other African countries are having high number of victim of the dreaded diseases hence the need of more collaboration awareness to enlighten the wider societies.
Part of activities that was done to mark the day was Distribution of health materials,Advocacy visit to the communities heads to establish good working relationship and Mobilization of the community members where a team of six people were strategical stationed to provide services to people who Came out enmasse to be attended too.

A rally round the village was Carried where many people came out and over 1471 were verbally screened of TB and 85 had a Pre-PTB test 81 number of sputum was collected.

He however said 81 people were screened of HIV only 2 people were confirmed positive and described it a good development compare to previous years that people are even afraid to come out for screening.

Dr Steven extolled the Government of Adamawa state under the able leadership of Sen. Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow who is given all the needed support to all medical head of parastatals to make sure the State of emergency declared on the health sector is yielding much results.

While at the palace of the District Head of Fufore, Dr John hearty appreciates the enduring support of the community Leader:
