Nigerian comedian, Basketmouth has called off attending the Comics Choice Awards in South Africa over fresh cases of xenophobia in the country.
Basketmouth said he has taken the decision in solidarity with Nigerians and other nationals killed by the attackers.
He called for a change in an emotional statement and said he believes in the unity of all.
”I am not sure how and when we got here.
”I won’t be attending the Comics Choice Awards in S.A as scheduled.
”It might sound like a whisper but together our voices and actions will hopefully make a true difference. And real change can begin.
”But for today, we stand.”
